Health Care Services

Liberal is proud of its regional medical center, Southwest Medical Center. Located in the north part of town, this 101 bed facility contains state-of-the-art medical technology and emergency services. The hospital consistently recruits highly skilled physicians and employs approximately 450 people.

A wide range of medical services are provided by 40 physicians. Other services in our city include a VA Primary Care Clinic, renal care facility, county health department, dentistry, optometry, hearing aid centers, chiropractic, and hospice care.
Southwest Guidance Center, with a staff of 35, provides psychological and psychiatric counseling services.

There are two nursing homes in Liberal with a total of 157 beds as well as a 44 apartment assisted living center.
