Year 2007 Chamber Goals

“Destination . . . Liberal”

Create awareness of Liberal as a destination point for retail shopping, tourism, new retail business opportunities, and industrial development growth.
Promote retail and lodging business in conjunction with community events.

Expand participation in community shopping events including Bazaar Days, Christmas parade, and Pancake Day.

Expand merchant participation in “Farmers Market” to include art, crafts, etc.

Continue membership growth utilizing member visitation program.

Expand committee participation to include members with a specialty focus of interest in the committee’s goals.

Increase membership retention by increasing awareness of benefits of Chamber membership.
Increase the involvement of Hispanic owned businesses in the Chamber and promote Hispanic products as a part of Liberal’s retail specialty area.

Assist the City of Liberal and Seward County in efforts of business retention and expansion.

Inform members of referrals made by the Chamber.

Continue to effectively manage the Chamber budget.

Promote the use and value of the Chamber web site.

Create awareness of the Chamber a valued and integral organization in the city/county.

Maintain effective communication with local, state, and national policy makers and civic leaders.

Support Highway 54 expansion through public information and communication with public officials in Topeka and Washington DC.
